Elena Lucrezia Cornaro Piscopia or Elena Lucrezia Corner, also known in English as Helen Cornaro, was a philosopher of noble descent in the Republic of Venice who in 1678 became one of the first women to receive an academic degree from a university and the first appointed a Doctor of Philosophy.
