Histories Today is a free, publicly accessible historical-events database. The Service includes:
- Daily timelines of historical events, births, deaths, and milestones.
- Full-text search across 50,000+ historical records.
- Optional registered-user features including bookmarks, comments, and personalised feeds.
- A public API and embed widget for third-party use (subject to separate API terms).
- Optional paid premium features (subject to subscription terms).
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
Acceptable use policy
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service in a manner that disrupts normal operation or exceeds reasonable personal use, without prior written consent.

Historical factual data is not subject to copyright protection. However, the original compilation, curation, editorial summaries, site design, branding, software, and all other original creative works on Histories Today are protected by applicable intellectual property laws and owned by Histories Today unless otherwise noted.
Content sourced from Wikipedia and Wikidata is used under the terms of their respective open licenses (Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike and Creative Commons Zero). Attribution is provided where required.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or continuous availability.
